For the Kids

Hey Kids!

Welcome! My name is Miss Darina (or Miss D). My name sounds a lot like the name of the snack, Dorito, so some silly kids like to call me Miss Dorito. Does your name sound like anything silly?

If you are here, that might mean you are interested in learning about science or art, just like me! If that is the case, I hope that you get to take one of my classes. :)

Maybe you already get to take science in school, or maybe you don’t know a whole lot about science, yet. Wherever you’re at, we’re going to jump in and learn together.

I’m wondering if you get to do art in your school? The fun thing about my classes is that you get to do science and art at the same exact time! You’ll get to take home some really interesting projects that you’ll be so proud to show off. 

Science is super duper cool!! It is how we can learn about the world around us. If you notice a lot of things while you’re playing or on a walk, if you love learning about and watching animals, if you love to build things, if you love creating crazy fizzy potions or exploding volcanos, if you really like collecting things, if you think dinosaurs or the planets are really interesting…well guess what?!…you’re already just like a scientist! 

If I am going to be your teacher, then I will be able to show you how you can get REALLY curious about LOTS of things. We’ll get to play and get messy and work with our friends to practice our science skills. We will use so many things such as clay, paints, recycled materials, leaves, rocks, dirt, candy, some snazzy science gear, and so much more! 

If all this sounds like fun to you, then I really hope I get to teach you AND learn from you!!!
